First Officer's Personal Log, Mission Day 12, 2300 hours.

One thing I didn't anticipate when making the jump from Second Officer to First Officer when taking this position was the distance that it would put between me and the rest of the senior staff, much less the rest of the crew. Perhaps it's just because we're still a new crew and getting to know one another, but in my last two postings the senior staff was comfortable using familiar names with one another almost immediately. Maybe it's all in my mind, but I'm sensing some resistance to that, and it's ... well it's lonely.

Anyway, the Captain is planning for us to get together and do a holonovel soon. And I feel like Lt. Razka may turn into a friend. We had a bat'leth lesson today. Let me just say that, the holodeck programs did not prepare me for sparring with an actual opponent. But he was patient with me, and offered to keep teaching me, so there's that to look forward to.

Anyway, there's a lot of work to do, another busy day tomorrow preparing for entry into Mutara Nebula, and even more threats as we head toward Campor III. Signing out for now.
